The assignment was to create a mock-up version of a website designed to educate designers about sustainability in design practice. I drew inspiration for this project from websites such as Re-nourish and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. I incorporated a grid design scheme and photography elements into my design and used small logos to visually represent 10 things designers can do to become and stay sustainable.
Part of the assignment was to create 10 points designers would need to follow in order to become and stay sustainable. I organised my points to approximately follow the design process, with an emphasis on reducing waste and using recycled materials. The last two points, “Incorporate” and “Co-operate” are included to encourage designers to make sustainability a habit. This way you’re far more likely to stay a sustainable designer once you know how to become one.
