This poster explores how tourists and the tourist marketing media can view countries. We see the bay of a beach, and through the sunglasses a beautiful sea and landscape, with no people and no problems. The glasses represent either the eye of the media trying to sell tourist experiences, or the eye of a tourist trying to enjoy a perfect beach based on their daydreams.
Surrounding the glasses on the beach are queues of people, policemen, riots, garbage, and air pollution. This is based on the research I did into tourist marketing concerning countries like Venezuela. The idea is that marketing based on narratives about a perfect paradise with no people can potentially be problematic, especially when the country is going through a crisis.
